Field Trips Overview

Below is a summary of the trips that take place during the school year. Please visit each campus for more details and pictures on the great places, at home and abroad, where our student visit.

Pre-School - Visits within the local area on foot as part of their units of inquiry.

Pre-Kindergarten - local field trips, winter sledding day.

Kindergarten - local field trips and a winter sledding day as part of the PE curriculum.

Grade 1 - Day visits in Switzerland and Winter Sledding day.

Grades 2 - Day visits in Switzerland, spring mountain trip and Winter snow day and activities.

Grade 3 - Mountain residential focusing on outdoor pursuits and Ski day.

Grade 4 - Mountain residential focusing on outdoor pursuits and Ski Trip.

Grade 5 - Mountain residential focusing on outdoor pursuits and Ski Trip.

Grade 6 - a week of individually chosen activities and challenges, and theme-based trips into the natural environment and community in the fall and five days in Spain in the spring.

Grade 7 - a week of individually chosen activities and challenges, and theme-based trips into the natural environment and community in the fall and five days in Italy in the spring.

Grade 8 - a week of individually chosen activities and challenges, and theme-based trips into the natural environment and community in the fall and five days in Berlin, Florence, Geneva or Ghana in the spring.

Classroom Without Walls (CWW) trips are faculty chaperoned experiences that support the school mission by offering a week-long trip which initiates or extends involvement in a curricular area (learn), in extracurricular activities (challenge) or service projects (care). The opportunity to lead is offered to Grade 12 students through Independent Projects.
