Online Application

The Online Application File with all of the required forms needs to be completed within six weeks of the submission of the initial registration and payment form.  Students are accepted on a space-available basis throughout the current school year. Applications will not be accepted more than two years in advance of the expected date of entry.

Applying to ZIS is a four step process.  Please see below for specific information on each step.

Before proceeding, please download and read the following:

ZIS Admissions Policy
ZIS Parent Partnership
ZIS Financial Regulations

Step 1: Initial registration and payment

To begin the application process the Admissions Office needs to receive the completed initial registration form and payment of the non-refundable CHF 520 processing fee.

You will then receive an email confirmation as a receipt which contains a transaction number which you will need to register to complete the online application form.

Step 2: Complete the Online Application

Once you have received your receipt and confirmation email, make a note of the Transaction ID.

Click on the Apply button below to go the online application form and then click on Create an Account.

You will need the Transaction ID from your confirmation email in order to commence the online application.  The Transaction ID should be entered in the Application Payment Code box.

Step 3: Placement Testing

Students applying to mid-Grade 7 to Grade 12 who do not have English as their mother tongue, or have not been using English as their prior academic language for the past three years, will be asked to complete an English Placement Test. For English Levels click here.

After acceptance, subject specific placement tests/screening might be required to place a student in the correct level of a course - i.e. mathematics, foreign language and science.

Step 4: Acceptance

Once the Application File is completed, it will be sent to the Principal of the relevant division to be academically approved. The Admissions Office will call as soon as a space becomes available. Upon payment of the full registration fee, an acceptance letter will be emailed to welcome your family to our ZIS community.
