All faculty are expected to offer a reasonable amount of extra help to their students. This may take place before, during or after the academic day.
If a student requires regular and long-term tutoring assistance in a particular subject, (as opposed to general learning support) a list of ZIS employees who are prepared to tutor ZIS students is on offer. This list is made available to parents through the ZIS website. Included on the list are also community tutors who have provided ZIS with references and a Criminal Check.Parents are invoiced for this service if the tutor is a ZIS employee. Parents pay community tutors directly. As a rule ZIS teachers may not tutor their own students and are not available to tutor between 8:30am and 4:00pm. ZIS sets the rate for ZIS employees but obviously can only recommend this rate to our community tutors.
- CHF 104 per hour: Certified ZIS teachers
- CHF 80 per hour: Non-certified teachers
Current parents can access the a list of available tutors through the Quick Links section in the Community Portal here.
National Honor Society (NHS) students are also available for tutoring. The NHS advisor should be contacted for more information about this program.
Also, the ZIS Job Center maintains a list of students who are prepared to tutor other students for a small established wage.
