Global Citizen Diploma
At Zurich International School, we believe following a passion uncovers a pathway for success, and that sharing our passions opens powerful opportunities for learning together. The Global Citizen Diploma offers our students an opportunity to do both – to follow their interests and tell their own stories.

No matter their pathway, all ZIS graduates receive a ZIS diploma, an accredited diploma that acknowledges the academic rigor of our Upper School program. Achievement of the Global Citizen Diploma provides an additional credential that celebrates the whole student as they reflect upon and share their learning, their experiences, their
challenges, and their adventures.

Along with a coalition of like-minded schools around the world, we were proud to introduce the Global Citizen Diploma to the Upper School in 2014/15.

The Global Citizen Diploma is:

  • an optional diploma ZIS students in the Upper School can earn through reflections on their activities and interests both inside and outside of school;

  • a descriptive diploma that will tell each student’s ‘story’ to university admissions officers and verify for universities the authenticity of students’ achievements;

  • holistic diploma that allows students to demonstrate leadership, collaboration, community engagement and other critical 21st century skills.

For further information about the GCD at ZIS, here is an article from ZIS student Kathleen Falconer entitled "What is the GCD and why should you complete it".

Learning at ZIS

At ZIS we recognize the unique and diverse nature of our students. That’s why accommodating the individual learning needs of each and every student remains our highest priority.

Student Life

Co-curricular activities challenge our students’ personal, social and physical development and encourage a greater passion for learning. Opportunities range from the arts to sports to outreach and service work and beyond.

ZIS has four unique campuses offering a personal experience to each of our students. Whether it is an old villa or one of our modern buildings, ZIS offers an age-appropriate environment for your child’s learning.

The ZIS community extends beyond our students and includes ZIS families, alumni, faculty and staff, corporate partners, neighbors and friends.

Once a member of our community, always a part of our family around the world! Our alumni include former students, former parents and former faculty and staff. At ZIS we welcome our alumni’s engagement and strive to help you stay connected with your ZIS.
