Transforming Learning Spaces

Through Forward Together 2030, Zurich International School is reimagining how students learn, and reshaping our learning environments to support that vision.
This transforms the learning experience, not simply the spaces around it. Across both campuses, students think deeply, apply their understanding, collaborate with purpose and take ownership of their learning in environments that strengthen belonging, well-being and the ZIS journey from Early Childhood through Grade 12.

Deeper learning:
- How high expectations and exceptional teaching support academic excellence, transferable competencies and learner agency.

Belonging by design:
- How meaningful relationships and whole-person learning help every student feel deeply known, valued and able to contribute.

Connected learning:
- How connected learning environments strengthen purposeful collaboration, contribution and one cohesive learning journey.
Designed with Rosan Bosch Studio
Working with multi-award winning Danish design practice Rosan Bosch Studio, we are translating our vision for learning into physical environments. Their playful, human-centered approach combines pedagogical insight with architecture and design to create spaces that spark curiosity, support different ways of learning and strengthen community.

What to expect and when?
Transforming our learning spaces is a multi-phase initiative taking place over a number of years. The first phase was completed during Summer 2026. The work is deliberately planned to minimize disruption to school life and learning, with most of the work taking place during vacation periods. Further updates will be shared with our communities as the project progresses.
